Hello, I have two problems with my dual plate 636sa:
First, one of the tiny brass screws broke off in the shaft, I understand theses shafts are hard to get, what size and thread is that tiny screw so I can attempt to drill and tap it out? (I have new screw in my kit, just need the size and pitch).
Second, I also have a lot of slop on my boss between the plates on the shaft end, could I just tack weld the two plates together at the boss location so they move together with one another?

I sent a PM to you regarding the broken screw. Welding linkage is an outdated wrong theory. They used to be brazed, but in so doing flexibility and independent movement were lost. Kind of like wearing a splint on your leg forever. Your best bet is to try and shim it the best you can because, without that flexibility, the shaft and bores will wear faster giving you a larger vacuum leak sooner. welded together yields one big arm to pull against with the torsional forces applied by the throttle pedal.
